Oxfam raises £40,000 by recycling used printer cartridges

Howard Lake | 5 February 2004 | News

Oxfam raised £40,000 last year because its supporters sent their used printer catridges off for recycling.

This was an increase on the £36,000 that was raised by the initiative during 2002.

Oxfam works with recycling company LaserXchange to generate funds from donated used cartridges. The company donates £2.50 to Oxfam for every used laser cartridge, and £1 for every suitable inkjet cartridge.

LaserXchange offers a Freepost inkjet cartridge collection box or bag, or a Freepost label for smaller quantities of inkjet cartridges. They do not accept Epson inkjet cartridges.
