Incentives help boost raffle sales for Ulster Cancer Foundation

AMA Charity Services have increased raffle ticket sales by offering holiday vouchers as an incentive to ticket sellers.

AMA Charity Services have been carrying out a telephone raffle for the Ulster Cancer Foundation for several years, providing total consultancy and strategy for the raffle. Looking for a way to boost the raffle’s success further, the creative team at AMA Charity Services came up with the idea of offering an incentive to successful raffle ticket sellers.

AMA sourced holiday vouchers from the Travel & Leisure Company at a discounted rate of £2.70. Prospective sellers were told that those who sold two books of tickets – there are 15 tickets in a book – would receive £350 worth of holiday vouchers.

The objective of this new approach was to restore results to 2001 level. However the results of the campaign exceeded expectations.

The average response rate rose from 43% to 50%, while the average donation made a jumped from £13.86 to £19.55. In gross terms the raffle grew 30% on the previous year and finished up 20% over target. This produced a net gain of £43,388 for the Ulster Cancer Foundation.
