Lichfield-based St Giles Hospice reports that its Blotto! scratchcard has raised £10,000 so far from pub-goers in the charity’s Midlands catchment area.

More than 60 pubs have signed up to sell the game cards, which see players scratch and match three symbols to win a host of prizes – from the £1,000 jackpot to a free round of drinks.

All the proceeds go to support the charity’s care of local people living with cancer and other serious illnesses.

Richard Simmonite, St Giles Hospice Promotions’ Commercial Manager said: “We are delighted that Blotto! has really taken off and are extremely grateful to the pub-going public for their support.

“Pubs across our area are still coming forward to sign up for the scheme and we are confident it will prove to be a major financial boost for the hospice.”

Blotto! was created by the organisers of the St Giles Hospice Lottery. The weekly draw raised £1 million in the year to March 2003.
