Unclaimed £2.6m Lottery win added to good causes fund

Howard Lake | 10 November 2003 | News

A winner of a £2.6 million prize in the National Lottery has failed to claim her or his prize within the allotted 180 days, so the sum is credited to the good causes fund.

The winning Lotto Extra ticket had been bought in Northumberland for the 10 May 2003 draw. Coincidentally, that is the same area in which another large prize went unclaimed in February 2003, this time for £2,928,214.

The latest unclaimed prize generated £35,000 in interest during the 180 days, and this too is added to the good causes fund.
