Exchange CS offers free online supplier sourcing tool to charities

Collaborative sourcing service Exchange CS is allowing non-profit groups to make online price checks or quote requests to a large number of suppliers.

Exchange CS’s online database currrently lists 3,595 suppliers, many of whom they say “have expressed an interest in supplying to charities at favourable/discounted rates.” These suppliers also “regularly advertise special offers and promotions for charity groups.”

Charities and non-profit groups can register at no charge and then post a request for services which is then sent to the suppliers in the database. Once the deadline for responses has passed buyers can login, view all responses and then contact suitable suppliers. Requests can range from reams of paper to legal services.

A further tool, ExchangeDonator, allows groups to apply for various donated goods ranging from IT equipment to office furniture and services such as accountancy and legal advice. Details of donations are sent by e-mail to all registered users.

Unfortunately they’ve called their charity section “Charity Buyer”, which probably won’t please the team at www.charitybuyer.com which lists suppliers relevant to the charity and non-profit sector.
