Lord Cairns to become new Chairman of CAF

Lord Cairns is to become the new Chairman of the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in succession to Sir Brian Jenkins.

Lord Cairns is currently Chairman of CDC Group plc (formerly the Commonwealth Development Corporation), and he also chairs Look Ahead Housing and Care Ltd. He is also a member of the Business Advisory Council of UNOPS and a Trustee of The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.

During a career in the City, Lord Cairns became Chief Executive and Deputy

 

Chairman of SG Warburg and Chairman of Allied Zurich plc. Beyond his City

 

roles he also served as Chairman of Voluntary Service Overseas, Receiver-General of the Duchy of Cornwall, Chairman of the Overseas Development Institute and was the founding Chairman of the Commonwealth

 

Business Council, of which he remains a Board Member.

 

 

Sir Brian Jenkins takes over as CAF’s President from Sir Peter Baldwin KCB

 

who will be retiring on 13 November 2003.
