Amazon.co.uk extends affiliate opportunities

Some charities are earning easy income via their Web sites selling books and DVDs as an associate of Amazon.co.uk. With the advent of the kitchen and home section, the opportunities of generating income have expanded still further.

UK Fundraising has been earning income as an associate of Amazon since 1997. We list books about fundraising on the site, direct purchasers through to Amazon.co.uk, and earn between 5 and 15% on each sale generated as a result.

For the past six years we’ve been encouraging charities to add this facility to their Web site. All charities have donors who buy books, so why not list and sell relevant books on their Web site and earn income from them? Indeed, the charity can encourage all its donors to buy books online via their site and they will earn at least 5% on each sale. Extend the idea of CDs, DVDs, and videos and you can imagine that the income could start to rise, particularly for charities attracting large numbers of visitors to their site.

Over the years, Amazon.co.uk has added new sections such as toys, travel and electrical goods. The latest is Kitchen & Home. Now charities, or indeed any Web site owner, can earn income from kitchen gadgets and homewares. Amazon.co.uk makes promoting such wares easy with content such as:

While kitchenware promotions might not be all that relevant on a site for fundraisers, it could certainly be a useful addition to a special page on a charity’s Web site dedicated to shopping online and generating income for the charity at no extra cost.
