Tetley tea and the British Heart Foundation

Tetley tea and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) have presented awards to exceptional BHF Shop volunteers who have gone the extra mile for the heart charity.
The national search to find ‘Tetley Champions’ was also intended to highlight the work of BHF Shop volunteers and encourage more people to volunteer in their local BHF store.
Over 300 volunteers from BHF Shops in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland were nominated by their colleagues, and 33 volunteers have been rewarded for their outstanding contribution to their local stores.
The winning volunteers all receive Red Letter Day vouchers, enabling them to try out a range of activities including golf lessons, gardening days and tickets for summer concerts.
June Buckley from the Halifax BHF Shop was declared the overall Tetley Champion. June’s support and commitment to the BHF extends well beyond her work in the Halifax shop. Following a heart transplant 12 years ago, June has been an active fundraiser for the charity, raising thousands of pounds through sponsored walks. June is also a successful athlete and has won many medals over the years at the British and World Transplant Games.
This year Tetley also hopes to top the £200,000 it raised in 2002.
