MIND signs up as independent energy adviser affiliate
Mental health charity MIND is the first charity to sign up as a Simply Energy affinity partner and generate funds by promoting its independent consumer advice service.
MIND will promote Simply Energy’s telephone service to its supporters, encouraging them to use it to find the most economical gas and electricity providers in their area and then arrange a switch of supplier if required. The
charity receives a donation on every successful contract signed by their supporters. After 12 months Simply Energy offers charities an agreed minimum donation level.

Simply Energy says that it meets “all the material or operational costs” and MIND is only responsible for promoting the service through agreed channels. In MIND’s case it will promote the service to segments of its donor base, via its supporter magazine, multi-product mailings, and with point of sale material at its 100 retail outlets.
Simply Energy claims to be the only telephone-based service offering impartial advice on energy supplier choice: it is unbiased because it receives a fixed commission for
each contract which is the same from all suppliers.
MIND’s Chief Executive Richard Brook said: “MIND is always pleased to be working with companies that are sympathetic to our mission and can help our cause. The proposition from Simply Energy is very sound and gives a guaranteed result with very little resource from us.”
Karen Darby CEO for Simply Energy said: “We are confident that many charities will be able to benefit from the Simply Energy service and we are actively seeking more Affinity Partners. We are delighted to be working with MIND and fully understand the importance of the ‘MIND’ brand and how this is
perceived by it’s supporters and public at large.”
