Lord Mayor of London announces the beneficiary of his Fundraising Appeal
The new Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Gavyn Arthur QC, last night announced that the beneficiary of his Appeal will be Save the Children. It will support projects in London and across the UK.
The Appeal has a target of £4m that will be raised by a dedicated fundraising team based in the City and headed up by Appeal Director Lisa Hillman. Fundraising will comprise a year-long series of events in the City – from a Venetian Ball to abseiling – as well as work with individual and corporate donors, Trusts and Foundations.
Projects to be funded include the new Lord Mayor’s Award Scheme based in London, in which 13 Award Holders are developing projects based on their own life experiences. Outside London, the Appeal is supporting Save the Children projects in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
