Donated telephony system for hospice

Howard Lake | 12 November 2002 | News

The Paul Bevan hospice has received a donated telephony system from voice and data solutions company Sterry Communications.

The new telephony system replaces the hospice’s existing system, which was no longer capable of handling the large amount of incoming calls the Ascot-based hospice was receiving.

The hospice which cares for cancer sufferers says that it could not have afforded an upgrade to its telephony system. It relies solely on donations from charity shops, individuals and businesses in order to run the centre.

Sterry commissioned the communications system free of charge and its dedicated engineering team installed it over a weekend, enabling the system to go live on the Monday morning. The new system will help the hospice to respond to the needs of the local community and cancer sufferers, as well as providing the centre with a dedicated number for donations.
