World Vision gets Web site of the Week accolade

New Media Age has declared World Vision’s Web site its Site of the Week.

Reviewer Jonathan Webdale described the site as “simple in its design, clear and stylish, combining hard-hitting black-and-white photograph with thorough information.”

The site is applauded because its “emphasis is on providing visitors with ways to help fund the charity’s activities, including a one-click donation facility, the ability to sign up to regular giving and World Vision’s child sponsorship scheme.”

The reviewer’s only criticism was that the online gift catalogue was not better integrated within the site. “Rather than being a page within the site, [it] is accessible via a microsite.” Otherwise, the site is “flawless.”

The site scores 22/25 for content and usability, 21/25 for branding and 19/25 for monetisation, yielding a total of 84/100.
