Community Fund explains how it assesses grants

The Community Fund has opened up its procedures to all grant applicants.

The Community Fund has unravelled the mystery of what makes an application successful by publishing its new Grant Assessment Manuals on its Web site. The manuals show the full internal methods used by grants officers in assessing applications under the Community Fund’s six grants programmes.

Luke FitzHerbert, of the Directory of Social Change said: “At last, the full scoring instructions! The Community Fund has set an example that should be followed by every other grant maker handling public funds.
