Win £5000 for your enterprising solutions

DSC and NatWest are offering £5000 for innovative approaches to finance solutions to social or environmental issues.
The Directory of Social Change and NatWest have announced this year’s Enterprising Solutions competition. The award celebrates innovative and sustainable finance solutions to social or environmental issues.
Now in its third year, the £5000 award is open to a charity or non-profit organisation of any size or to a for-profit organisation with a turnover of less than £1 million. You need to show that your organisation has contributed to a social or environmental need in the UK elsewhere.
You also need to demonstrate that you have a track record of three years or more in financing over 65% of your work through enterprise. This means that your organisation or project is mainly financed by money that you earn rather than by grant funding. This does include money raised from the public.
Last year’s winners were Tropical Wholefoods, a fair trade business.
The award is designed to demonstrate that you do not need to rely on the favour of grant-making trusts or government funding to help solve social problems.
