The Disasters Emergency Committee’s online banner ad appeal is “my campaign of the week”, says Dominic Mansour in his “Ad Watch” feature in this week’s New Media Age. Agency Tangozebra produced creative that “is really simple: but then so is the message: please donate.” The ads appeared on a range of key sites, including 24/7 Media, 365 Corporation, 192.com, Beeb.com, Freeserve, FT.com, GranadaMedia, The Telegraph, and Yahoo! UK and Ireland.
The appeal launched on 2 March and will run for 14 days. “For the first time ever the DEC are also taking this campaign online,” said the organisation. They also asked participating sites if they “could provide a standard post campaign impressions/clicks report.”
