Charity 'brochureware' spotted by Revolution

Although the magazine comments that “the site is easy to navigate” it adds that “phrases such as “the information in this leaflet” suggest that a lot of text has just been lifted from brochures.”

‘Brochureware’ is the disparaging jargon for such an approach to Web sites. Transferring printed material to a Web site is a standard procedure, but such material does need to be edited for the Web. A small amount of pre-launch testing by selected users usually picks up this kind of error.
