What do your supporters think of your e-mail newsletter? The only sure way to find out is to ask them.

Scott Sheldon of The Institute for Nonprofit Management & Southwest Philanthropy at Arizona State University runs an e-mail newsletter sent to over 1,000 non-profit agencies throughout the state. He has just shared the subscribers’ responses to a recent survey.

Scott wrote:

“85% said they like receiving our email newsletter “once a week”

92% said that the current 2-page length of the newsletter was “just right”

77% forward a copy of the newsletter to other colleagues in their organization

60% forward the newsletter to people outside their organization

88% indicated they were “much more aware” of our programs because of the newsletter

91% said that the newsletter made them “much more aware of the Arizona nonprofit community”

81% of the respondents rate the newsletter as “very valuable”.
