Text messaging tested as supporter tool by National Blood Service
The National Blood Service has tested text messaging from mobile ‘phones as a method of communicating with donors.
The text message trial to students at five universities resulted in blood donor levels growing by 32%. The National Blood Service now plans to extend the project nationally by the end of 2001.
Charities looking to test the medium have a maximum of 150 characters in which to get their message across.
