Most charities can now take secure online donations

Howard Lake | 30 January 2001 | News

According to a recent survey of charities by the charities Internet fundraising and e-commerce group, 51% of charities now have a secure online donation facility. Another 39% plan such a facility in the next 6 months on their site.

Gareth Edwards, chair of the group, says: “This is a clear indication of charities now recognising that the Web will be a future source of major donations. Two of the charities surveyed received over £50,000 per annum, a clear taster of what is to come.”

Future results of the survey will feature on UK Fundraising.
