£1m prize fund for universities' entrepreneurship

Launchit2001 is a competition supported by the Guardian which aims “to unlock the innovation hidden in university campuses and find Britain’s next big name in IT and telecoms.” A prize fund of £1 million is on offer from venture capital management firm Cross Atlantic Capital Partners and internet incubator Brainspark.

Launchit2001 is a competition supported by the Guardian which aims “to unlock the innovation hidden in university campuses and find Britain’s next big name in IT and telecoms.” A prize fund of £1 million is on offer from venture capital management firm Cross Atlantic Capital Partners and internet incubator Brainspark.

The competition is open to any individual in higher education or teams that include a student or academic staff member. Teams are encouraged to add senior management from outside the university.

The deadline for online registration is 5 February 2001.

Given the innovation in IT and telecoms shown by many health and disability charities, this competition would appear to be relevant not only to universities.
