Fundraising idea to get trolleyed

Howard Lake | 1 December 2000 | News

Supermarket offers charity income to get their trolleys back.

The Asda supermarket in Southampton is so fed up with having its trolleys lost or stolen that is has asked a local charity to help them. Over four years the supermarket has lost 761 trolleys. It has now offered breast cancer charity Tickled Pink £1 for every trolley returned.

In effect the supermarket has declared a trolley amnesty. In the first day ten trolleys were returned. Could this idea be replicated around the country?
