New forum for charity Web managers

Howard Lake | 2 May 2000 | News

Steve Wexler of CharityJOB, the free jobs listing site, is to set up a forum for charity Web site managers. It will meet periodically in London, and will also communicate via e-mail.
UK Fundraising readers might remember a similar forum, Webmanager, which was set up in 1997 to help non-profit Web site managers and staff share their advice and expertise. The e-mail list was a joint project of Fundraising UK Ltd and the Deutschen Spendeninstitut (German Charities Institute) and attracted an international membership.
It was provided at no cost for all those responsible for managing and developing non-profit Websites. This includes non-profit staff and volunteers, and the staff of agencies which run non-profits’ Web sites.
It was designed not only for those responsible for the technical aspects of nonprofits’ websites but also to those responsible for managing or editing them, or for using them for publishing, fundraising, PR and campaigning purposes.
