Another potentially useful site for local and regional charities has emerged. UKVillages.co.uk is rolling out its network of communities to offer by August a nationwide database of information on 28,000 UK locations, including villages. Residents, which of course includes charity fundraising staff and volunteers, will be able to enter details of local events and services.

Charities can already take advantage of coverage on Newsquest’s growing range of town and county-based Web sites and on TownPages, which was launched in May 1998
