McCain e-mailed 142,000 "almost daily"

The US presidential candidates have used the Internet successfully to raise funds in the past year, pointing the way for charity fundraisers.

The US presidential candidates have used the Internet successfully to raise funds in the past year, pointing the way for charity fundraisers. US fundraising consultant Rick Christ recently shared one useful statistic on the subject on the Gilbert Center’s Online Fundraising discussion list. “Yesterday at the Direct Marketing Assoc. of Washington’s Fundraising Day” said Rick, “I learned how Max Fose, who was Internet Director of John McCain’s Presidential campaign, developed a list of 142,000 people that he e-mailed almost DAILY about petitions, campaign appearances, and other volunteer opportunities.”

Rick told UK Fundraising that he will shortly post a research paper on his Web site entitled “Internet Fundraising in the United States” that contains other facts about McCain and other online fundraising
