UK Fundraising publisher Howard Lake was quoted recently in an article by the US Chronicle of Philanthropy on the trend in click-to-give-for-free Web sites, such as the Hungersite. His concern at their implications for genuine donor-focused fundraising has been echoed by others on the Web and fundraising e-mail discussion lists.

“Maybe instead of trying to make it all easier to do, we should concentrate on educating potential donors of time or money about what long-term, effective, meaningful support of our causes looks like,” writes Jayne Craven.
