While established IT entrepreneurs have been making generous donations recently it is encouraging to see Internet start-ups working with charities.

BlueCycle, whose launch was featured last month by UK Fundraising, is holding a charity auction on St valentine’s Day at the Voodoo Lounge in London’s Leicester Square. Auction proceeds and half of the ticket price will go to Macmillan Cancer Relief and Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

Moonfruit, a new online community building site, recently teamed up with the Battersea Courage Trust to raise £4,000 in a Blind Date night. A gay Blind Date fundraising event is planned for April.
