The World Wildlife Fund’s eye-catching site on the World Wide Web has been gathering praise and recognition from Internet professionals.

The US Web Marketing Association has honoured WWF for having the best Web site of any non-profit organisation on the Internet.

The Association for Interactive Media (AIM) has also cited WWF as “one of five charitable groups effectively using the Internet to extend your cause”, a designation rewarded at AIM’s annual dinner on January 19, at New York’s Russian Tea Room, with a celebration of which WWF shared in the proceeds.

AIM surveyed its members of Internet companies to determine

which non-profits were best utilizing the Web in promoting their organization’s mission and goals.

At the Web Marketing Association, more than 700 Web sites competed for one of this year’s WebAwards recognizing the best-designed sites on the Internet. WWF’s Web site took

top honours in the non-profit category and was the only non-profit site to receive one of WMA’s coveted “Best of Industry” designations.
