Oxfam gathers feedback on supporters' use of e-mail

Oxfam GB is carrying out a census of its supporters this month. Significantly, the survey includes several questions about supporters’ use of and attitudes towards e-mail and the Internet.

Do you use the Internet, they ask. How would you like use to communicate with you? Would you prefer that we just use e-mail? The form itself included a field for e-mail address so that they can expand their growing list of e-mail address contacts.
In addition, the covering letter explicitly drew attention to one question about the Internet. Siân Keating, Supporter Communications Manager at Oxfam GB, pointed out that “Oxfam has teamed up with Yahoo! to provide a free Internet service for our supporters.” She encouraged supporters to find out more.
The results of the survey will be published in a future issue of Oxfam Reports. UK Fundraising will report on these results.
