Fundraisers share their ideas at the first Fundraising Camp

Howard Lake | 30 September 2013 | News

UK Fundraising’s first Fundraising Camp took place in Oxford on Tuesday this week. Over 60 fundraisers spent the day at this ‘unconference’-style event, the first of its kind for fundraisers in the UK.
Unlike standard conferences, Fundraising Camp aims to unlock the expertise and experience in the people who are usually the audience. The audience are the speakers at Fundraising Camp!
Undaunted by this, fundraisers from national and local charities attended and submitted ideas for 30 minute sessions. Some people made formal presentations, such as those from our sponsors Be Inspired Films and One Cent Call, others simply talked around a table, and even more ended up chatting on the sofas to useful people they had met.
Throughout the day there were four different sessions running at any one time.
Here is our initial summary of the event, with plenty more, including a video report, to come. More Fundraising Camps are planned, including one in Canterbury at the University of Kent on 30 November.
