Big Give, the match funding charity, has launched its fifth Women & Girls Match Fund, a week-long campaign that gives the public the chance to double their donations to more than 150 charities supporting women and girls.

The campaign runs until 13 October 2026.

How the campaign works

Donations to the participating charities made through Big Give’s platform can be doubled while match funds last. The match funding comes from Big Give’s network of Champions, including The Julia Rausing Trust and Admiral Group. Big Give combines the matching with digital fundraising support, to help charities reach new supporters.

The week spans International Day of the Girl Child on 11 October, which Big Give says offers a timely moment for the public to support organisations working to improve the lives and opportunities of women and girls in the UK and around the world.

Last year’s results

Big Give says the 2025 campaign was its most successful Women & Girls Match Fund to date, raising a record £2.39 million for 217 charities through 9,545 matched donations, powered by £1.3 million in Champion funding. It adds that 71% of participating charities received larger donations than through comparable fundraising activity, and 93% received donations from entirely new supporters.

The funding gap

The charity points to research by Pro Bono Economics, commissioned by Rosa, which found that 91% of organisations in the women and girls’ sector had seen demand for their services increase over the past year, while 67% said they would expand their services if they had greater resources. Women’s and girls’ organisations receive just 1.8% of charitable grants in the UK, according to Big Give.

James Reed CBE, Chair of Trustees for Big Give, said:

“Last year, the public’s generosity made our most successful Women & Girls campaign yet, and every pound donated went twice as far. But the funding gap facing these charities hasn’t gone away. This week, everyone has the chance to double their impact for organisations that are changing the lives of women and girls in the UK and around the world.”

Anne Dodwell, Director, Arts & Heritage at The Julia Rausing Trust, said:

“Supporting women and girls was deeply important to Julia, and it remains a strong focus for the Trust today. We are very pleased to continue our involvement in Big Give’s Women and Girls Match Fund for a third year.”

Michelle Leavesley, Chief Sustainability Officer at Admiral Group, said the company is proud to support the campaign and the charities supporting women and girls in the UK and internationally.
