Jewish Care's Bridge Extravaganza awarded Guinness World Record

Howard Lake | 4 December 2012 | News

The Bridge Extravaganza, an annual fundraising event for Jewish Care, has achieved a Guinness World Record for having raised the most money, cumulatively, for charity by an annual bridge tournament.

The Bridge Extravaganza has raised £1,223,838 for the charity between 1997 and 2011. That figure has now been surpassed: this year’s event attracted more than 240 players to the Landmark Hotel in Marylebone yesterday and raised a further £70,000.

The money raised by the event supports the “from Home to Home” project, transporting people to Jewish Care’s centres for people living with dementia.
