New chief executive at Marie Curie Cancer Care
Marie Curie Cancer Care has appointed Dr Jane Collins as its new chief executive. She joins from Great Ormond Street Hospital, where she has been chief executive for more than 10 years.
She will take up her position on 1 September, taking over from Tom Hughes-Hallett, who announced in January his decision to step down after 11 years in the post.
John Varley, chairman of Marie Curie’s trustees, said that Dr Collins “brings with her a deep understanding of the NHS, the commissioning landscape and the work of academic and research institutions. In addition, she has extensive experience of fundraising through combining her job of chief executive at Great Ormond Street Hospital with running the hospital’s charitable arm.”
