Nominations open for DSC's Social Change Awards

Howard Lake | 30 June 2011 | News

The Directory of Social Change is inviting nominations for its fifth annual Social Change Awards, which are designed to “celebrate the passionate individuals and effective organisations committed to making a positive impact on society”.
Individuals, groups, organisations and companies can all be nominated. There are five categories, including Influencer Award, The Great Giving Funders Award and the Everyday Impact Award for new enterprises.
DSC will produce a shortlist of three from each category (apart from the Everday Impact Award category where there will be six), and there will be an online public vote to help pick the winners.
The winners will be announced on 1 December 2011 in London.
DSC established these awards to be different from the many other charity sector awards. Regarding the awards ceremony, they say: “forget linen table cloths and hefty ticket prices – this will be an inclusive, fun and informal event with inspiring speakers and some great stories from entrants”.
The closing date for nominating others is 19 August 2011, and 26 August if you nominate yourself.
