Gill Raikes MInstF Cert, Director of Fundraising at the National Trust, and a trustee of the Institute of Fundraising, has been awarded the MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list.

Lots of people have been quick to add their congratulations to Gill, including Mark Astarita, Director of Fundraising at the British Red Cross and the new Chair of the Institute of Fundraising.

He tweeted:

Bruce Leeke, Acting Chief Executive of the Institute of Fundraising, added: “Held in high regard by her peers, colleagues and associates, Gill Raikes is one of the UK’s leading fundraisers. She is renowned for her tireless efforts on behalf of the National Trust but has also been a great champion of the fundraising profession.

“Gill’s work on the IoF’s National Convention Board and more recently as one of our trustees shows her unrelenting commitment to fundraising and fundraisers. We are delighted for Gill who thoroughly deserves this great honour.”
