Employees at biscuit and snacks manufacturer United Biscuits raised over £167,000 for charities and community groups last year as part of its People and Community Programme, which was launched at the beginning of 2009.
This represents an increase of almost 20% from 2009, and a further £30,000 was raised through its Give As You Earn scheme. United Biscuits also gave its employees 274 days of special leave to enable employees to work on community projects. The figures were announced in the company’s People and Community Progress Report, launched this week.
