The National Concert Hall in Dublin is launching a €50 million fundraising campaign for a major refurbishment of their building.

An important part of the strategy for the campaign will be raising money from philanthropic sources in the United States.

Within the last year the National Concert Hall (NCH) has undertaken a number of fundraising events in New York and, according to the Irish Times, is seeking to base its campaign on that of New York’s Lincoln Centre for Performing Arts.

The Lincoln Centre has raised over €1 billion for a refurbishment programme and NCH wants to draw on that experience for their campaign.

NCH currently runs a number of patrons and friends programmes. In the last financial year NCH had a turnover of over €4 million which included grant aid of €2.6 million from the State.
