The Guide to New Trusts 2025/26

The Guide to New Trusts takes the time-consuming legwork out of the process of finding and researching new sources of funding to help you find funders who might support your cause.

The grant-makers in the latest edition of the Directory of Social Change’s new edition of this popular guide were all registered in 2024/25. They were selected for their wide geographical area of operation and the breadth of their areas of interest, ensuring that they were relevant to a large number of charities, rather than a small niche of just a few.

This edition offers a range of opportunities, with grant-making charities established by individuals, families and companies. The list of founders and trustees includes footballers, TV personalities, a motorcycle group and a famous actor.

What does it cover?

Each listed organisation’s entry in the directory features the essential information for fundraisers, with entries checked for currency. These include:

It also reports on the current giving practices of a few of the most effective grant-makers from previous editions.

Mike Ward, Head of Statutory, Trusts and Foundations, The Felix Project, said:

“In an environment of continued competition for limited funding, The Guide to New Trusts is an invaluable tool for identifying potential new grant-making charities. It has helped us find new funders that often don’t appear on traditional funding databases, might not have their own websites and are not yet required to submit annual reports to the Charity Commission. It has helped us filter out grant-makers whose priorities are not aligned with our area of work and, more importantly, to connect with those promising new funders that are.”

The 2025/26 edition was edited by Jessica Threlfall who has co-authored three editions of this guide, together with being the author of The Guide to Individuals In Need.
