Two new fundraising team members at Sailors’ Society

Miranda Nugent has joined The Sailors’ Society as the new Trust and Corporate Officer and Jo Rich will be providing maternity cover as the Events Fundraiser and PR Co-ordinator.
Nugent recently completed a Masters in Creative Writing and has joined the Sailors’ Society as her first role in fundraising. Rich graduated with a degree in Events Management in 2009 and joins the charity from a London-based children’s charity.
Events lined up include memorial services for Merchant Navy Day and World Maritime Day and the charity’s new endurance event, The Wilderness Challenge, later this month. Set in the Cairngorms National Park, the event will encompass trail running, mountain biking in the forests of Glenmore, Abernethy and Rothiemurchus, and kayaking on Loch Morlich.

This is also the IMO Year of the Seafarer and the charity has been running a campaign highlighting this.
