Salesforce.com and Salesforce.com Foundation support Elephant Parade London
Enterprise cloud computing company Salesforce.com and the Salesforce.com Foundation are supporting London’s largest ever public art exhibition, Elephant Parade London, organised by UK charity the Elephant Family.
Elephant Parade London will feature 250 pieces of art that represent life-size baby elephants, including the salesforce.com ‘Happy Herd’, which can be seen in Green Park from 3 May 2010. Elephant Family aims to raise £1 million with the exhibition. The art pieces have been hand-painted by artists ranging from school children to established and emerging talent from the art and design world including Marc Quinn, Diane Von Furstenberg, Lulu Guinness, and John Rocha.
The Salesforce company and foundation are supporting Elephant Family’s efforts through salesforce.com’s “1/1/1 integrated corporate philanthropy model”, where 1% of a company’s time, 1% of its equity and 1% of its products are given to the community. The company has already built an online petition as part of the event to enable members of the public to encourage governments to support Asian elephant conservation.
Isabel Kelly, international director of the Salesforce.com Foundation, said: “In addition to building the online petition Web site, we are also organising a number of volunteer initiatives involving people from across our organisation and from our customers and partners to support Elephant Family in launching the campaign.”
Other sponsors of the salesforce.com Happy Herd include Acorn Localizations, Kingpin Communications, LEWIS PR and Whiteoaks.
