Pump Aid to benefit from UK's Dow Live Earth Run for Water events

Water charity Pump Aid has been chosen as the sole beneficiary in the UK for The Dow Live Earth Run for Water events, which will take place in Manchester and London on 18 April 2010.
The 6km Run for Water events are also taking place in 48 other cities around the world.
Pump Aid is hoping up to 14,000 people will take part in the runs to raise funds for its work combating the global water crisis.
The 6km distance for the run has been chosen because, according to Pump Aid, it is “the average, and unthinkable, distance vulnerable women and children in villages walk to collect clean water, often taking them 5 hours a day”.
Entrants to the runs will be rewarded by a live concert in the parks after the event.
