Marie Curie wins Everyclick Charity Challenge

Marie Curie Cancer Care has won this year’s Everyclick Charity Challenge so will receive a major Clear Channel Outdoor national advertising campaign across 1,500 UK sites.

Hundreds of charities enocuraged their supporters to to search the internet, donate and fundraise on online giving platform Everyclick. To make it fair, Everyclick divided the Charity Challenge into three categories based on the size of charities’ donor bases. Marie Curie was the winner of the large charities category and also the overall competition.

The winners of the small and medium categories were Endometriosis UK and Epilepsy Action. They both win free advertising on Everyclick.

Marie Curie will now work with Clear Channel Outdoor and Everyclick to launch a national advertising campaign to raise awareness of the charity’s work, which will appear later this year. The winner in 2008 was Diabetes UK.

Pip Hainsworth, Marketing Director of Clear Channel Outdoor UK, said: “The Marie Curie entry was outstanding for its clear objectives and evidence of effectiveness, the integrated campaign using every resource available, and the sheer energy and enthusiasm that shone through”.

Since its launch in 2005 Everyclick has attracted over 140,000 registered users, who have helped raise over £750,000 for UK charities.

The next Everyclick Charity Challenge will be announced later in 2009.
