The Big Give highlights charities with matched giving opportunities

The Big Give, the site that aims to encourage and inspire effective giving, is now highlighting those charities that have been offered matched funding by third party organisations. It is part of a campaign to help donors increase the value of their donations amid the recession.
Charities with matched funding will now appear at the top of relevant searches and will be included in the new “Double Your Donation” area.
Matched funding can be available from government, councils, private donors and grantmakers. For example, the government’s £50 million Grassroots Grants fund offers matched funding as it aims to provide long-term funding for Community Foundations.
This new matched funding feature will be promoted to donors this week.
