City and Guilds publishes 2008 Rich List
City & Guilds, the vocational awarding body in the UK, has published its latest Vocational Rich List. Compiled by Philip Beresford of the Sunday Times Rich List, the City & Guilds Vocational Rich List features “self-made millionaires and entrepreneurs who have made their mark on industry using vocational training and education to achieve success”.
To be eligible for a place on the Vocational Rich List, each millionaire must have undertaken an apprenticeship or obtained a City & Guilds qualification at some point in their careers.
City & Guilds devised their rich list to demonstrate that vocational careers “can be every bit as rewarding as the traditional academic route”.
At the top of this year’s list are:
1. Diamond dealer Laurence Graff.
2. JCB Chairman Sir Anthony Bamford.
3. Mobile phone entrepreneur John Caudwell.
The top 100 list can be downloaded at no charge in Word format.
