Professional Fundraising launches redeveloped website
Professional Fundraising has redeveloped its website, offering faster access to the magazine’s content, plus a growing catalogue of “articles, case studies and sector opinion”.
The site now offers its content in a variety of RSS feeds, and the ability for visitors to tailor the amount of information they view: for example, they can toggle the front page from displaying two or six news items. The ‘breadcrumb’ trail at the end of each page is a useful navigational tool.
The search tool includes a useful list of suggested search terms which appear as you type in your query, complete with the number of matches for that term.
As well as details of upcoming Professional Fundraising and Plaza Publishing events, such as this month’s Digital Communications for Charities conference and the PF Awards 2008, the site includes an archive of material from the magazine which currently goes back to September 2007.
The printed magazine has been flagging up that the new site will be offering more content and services in 2008, with the ask the experts’ surgery section moving online.
Overall the site seems to offer wider access to material than the previous version which restricted access to some material to registered users. The focus is still very much on publishing the magazine’s content, with, for example, no interactivity or nod to online discussion or feedback.
