Real Mums front new campaign

Howard Lake | 4 September 2007 | News

Real mums – of every age, shape and size – are the figureheads of a new fundraising campaign unveiled by CLIC Sargent.

Following the lead of others, like Dove’s ‘Campaign for Real Beauty’, the charity has placed real women at the centre of its latest fundraising initiative, rather than using a single celebrity face to front the event as in previous years.

The event, which runs 15-23 September 2007, is about real mums having fun in whatever way catches their imagination. Alison Upton, National Events Manager, explains: National Yummy Mummy Week is a great excuse for mums around the UK to have some fun with their friends and family. Mums can get involved in whatever way suits them best – they can hold coffee mornings, sponsored events or even pampering parties.

100,000 mums from all over the UK are expected to take part in National Yummy Mummy week in September 2007. In addition to smaller events organised by individual mums, there will be 12 ‘PJ 5Ks’ at venues around the country. PJ 5Ks are family-friendly sponsored walks that are completed in pyjamas. Yummy Mummy Merchandise – including mugs, t-shirts, aprons, bibs and beakers – will also be sold during the week to raise additional funds for CLIC Sargent.
