Big Lottery Fund launches Celebrate grants

The Big Lottery Fund is offering grants of between £300 and £10,000 for groups to hold one off events or activities that celebrate their local community.
The Fund has a total of £3.875m available for projects in England and wants to address the finding that six out of ten people surveyed in a YouGov poll say they cannot remember ever coming together to celebrate with their community. Voluntary or community organisation with a constitution and bank account, schools, and statutory bodies can apply, and the fund is especially keen to receive applications from groups who have not applied before.
Applicants will need to show that their project is open to everyone in their local community, with the Big Lottery Fund giving higher priority to applications from: projects which demonstrate communities coming together to celebrate and share their diverse cultures, and projects which actively bring different generations together.

Celebrate opened for applications on 6th July. Applications will be assessed and awarded on a first come, first served basis. The fund will close to new applications when all the money has been awarded.
Information on how to apply is available on the Big Lottery Fund site: www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/celebrateengland
