Corporate fundraising round-up for June 2016
Here are eight of the latest corporate fundraising partnerships to catch our eye: a mixture of events, on-pack promotions, and donations to local and national charities.
1) Prima Solutions TwentyTwenty Challenge 2016
The first Prima Solutions TwentyTwenty Challenge took place on 14th May, raising £10,000 for charity TwentyTwenty, which supports young people across the East Midlands. The challenge saw twenty teams from across the East Midlands cover a marathon distance on foot, bike and canoe along with mystery challenges along the way to test their mental arithmetic and team-working skills.

2) Paterson’s Shortbread & Macmillan Cancer Support
Paterson’s Shortbread is launching an on-pack promotion, which will see a penny from each promotional pack of shortbread sold donated to Macmillan. The yearlong promotion hopes to raise £100,000 for Macmillan making it Paterson’s most significant charity partnership to date. Paterson Arran employees across the UK will also get involved in helping to raise funds for Macmillan through a series of fundraising activities such as sponsored runs, fancy dress, raffles, and their own World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

3) Matalan Birmingham & Cure Leukaemia
Matalan Birmingham has become an official partner of Cure Leukaemia and will be fundraising for the charity throughout 2016. It has entered two boats for the Brindleyplace Dragonboat Race on Saturday June 18th with the aim of raising £10,000, and will also be holding be holding in-store events and other fundraising initiatives.
4) Cartridges4Charity & Against Malaria Foundation
After more than 10 years of supporting Cardiac Risk in the Young, Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland and SeeAbility, Cartridges4Charity has announced that it is now supporting the Against Malaria Foundation. Customers’ full and empty ink cartridges, empty toner cartridges, and mobile phones will be reused with the value donated to the charity. April saw 188 mosquito nets distributed in Uganda, and 948 cartridges reused.
5) Fever-Tree & Malaria No More UK
To mark World Malaria Day on 25th April and raise funds and awareness for Malaria No More UK, Fever-Tree donated 10p to the charity from every bottle with a special Malaria No More UK metallic collar that was sold from this date until approximately the end of May. Fever-Tree also hosted a pop-up bar in the city ‘s Broadgate with 100% of proceeds from the bar donated to the charity. Fever-Tree and Malaria No More UK have been working together since 2013, with this the first product partnership.
6) Fuller’s & Shooting Star Chase
Twenty-one team members from Fuller, Smith and Turner P.L.C., have raised £35,000 for Shooting Star Chase with a 100-mile cycle ride last month from The Griffin Brewery in Chiswick to The Pointer Inn in Newchurch on the Isle of Wight. Fuller’s has been supporting Shooting Star Chase for over 10 years, and officially launched a corporate partnership in 2013.
7) Great Annual Savings Group (GAS) & Wearside boxing club
Seaham-based GAS has a cash donation to Houghton and District Fitness and Youth Boxing Club, which is open to anyone over the age of ten. GAS also supported the club’s recent boxing show at the Ramside Hall Hotel & Golf Club, boosting its total contribution to £1,000. GAS has previously supported several local sporting clubs, including Hetton Lyons Cricket Club, Castle Eden Cricket Club, Mixed Martial Arts show ‘Made 4 The Cage’ and other schools and sports teams.

8) IKEA & Woodland Trust
IKEA has provided its millionth tree for the Woodland Trust. IKEA FAMILY is the Woodland Trust’s key funder of its ‘Trees for Communities’ programme, which has now seen it provide one million trees for the charity. The partnership has enabled 4500 communities to plant trees in their local environment, with 150,000 people getting involved in the scheme as a result of IKEA’s funding. IKEA is also raising funds for the charity in its UK stores: each time an IKEA FAMILY member swipes their membership card and by allowing shoppers to pledge a tree for their local community by donating £1 on top of their bill at the till point.
