Two new charity running events for 2016
Alzheimer’s Research UK and Cancer Research UK are both launching new running challenge events this year to raise funds. Here are the details:
Running Down Dementia
Alzheimer’s Research UK and parkrun’s new challenge for 2016 Running Down Dementia challenges people to run or walk 100km over the summer months and raise £100 for dementia research. Participants are invited to sign up online and connect their tracking app, and can then complete the challenge to suit them, such as running 20km a week, or running 5km parkruns. Participants have five months to raise the money and achieve their 100km, and are invited to post their runs to social media using the hashtag #runningdowndementia. Alzheimer’s Research UK was parkrun’s first charity partner.
