Further Lottery funding to extend capacity building for Scotland’s heritage
Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage has been awarded £225,100 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to extend its capacity building programme so that it runs for a fourth year.
The original three-year initiative was developed to help Scotland’s heritage sector develop long-term financial security. The training has been used by 450 people from over 300 organisations within the heritage sector.
Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage (RSH) will now continue to deliver sector specific training until the end of March 2018.
RSH Project Manager Louise Downing said:

“The first two years have gone extremely well, exceeding all expectations. Meeting our original target of delivering training to 450 individuals within three years, a year ahead of schedule, is testament to the demand from within the heritage sector for the expertise RSH can share.”
RSH is a sector-wide partnership led by Arts & Business Scotland with Archaeology Scotland, Built Environment Forum Scotland, greenspace Scotland and Museums Galleries Scotland. It was launched in June 2014, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Catalyst scheme enabling it to deliver a programme of accessible training courses, inspirational expert led events, networking opportunities and develop online information and resources.

The additional funding will allow for the continuation of the fundraising training and capacity building programme, and include new elements such as the creation of an online digital publication and networking events for trustees of heritage groups and organisations.
Similar fundraising training and capacity building for heritage organisations has been extended by HLF for a year in England and Wales and Northern Ireland.
