Two more matched giving campaigns to come from Localgiving
Online giving platform Localgiving has announced the next two events in its regular match fund campaigns. Grow Your Tenner and GiveMe5 are both returning to benefit small and local charities and organisations.
1. Grow Your Tenner
Grow Your Tenner will return at 10am on 13 October 2015. It will run until 18 November or earlier if the matched fund is all used up. It is open to organisations across the UK.
During the campaign Localgiving will match single donations pound for pound by up to £10, and monthly donations up to £10 a month for three months.
To take part and benefit, charities and community groups must be registered with Localgiving. There are a few other limits in the terms, including a match funding limit of £9,000 for Direct Debit donations to each group, and a match funding limit of £1,000 for one-off donations to a single group.
Grow Your Tenner raised £1.6 million in 2014 and £1.2 million in 2012.
2. Give Me 5
GiveMe5 returns for one day only to celebrate Giving Tuesday this year, on 1 December.
During the 24 hour campaign Localgiving will double 1,000 £5 donations made to local charities on the day. Again, it is available to charities and community groups across the UK who are registered with Localgiving.
All £5 donations made on the day will be placed into a draw to be doubled by an extra £5 of matched funding. Regular donations made on the day are not eligible. Nor are there any limits on the number of matched donations that one organisation can receive, as each £5 donation will have an equal chance of receiving match funding.
The inaugural #GiveMe5 campaign raised £25,000.
These two campaigns are listed on Localgiving’s new timetable of campaigns. If you visit that you’ll notice that Localgiving will also be running a Christmas matched giving campaign from 8 December but no details are currently available.
